Women deserve the support to flourish

Women should not have to choose between their children and their futures. Women Deserve Better works to change the conditions that can drive women to abortion through practical, woman-centered solutions.

When women are supported,
more becomes possible

Pregnancy and parenthood should not close doors to education, careers, safety, or stability. Better means practical support and opportunities that allow women to care for their families and build the futures they envision.

01 Keep learning

Campuses can offer flexible academic options, family housing, childcare support, and clear resources so pregnant and parenting students can continue their education.

02 Keep building a career

Workplaces can provide fair accommodations, paid leave, flexibility, and family-friendly policies that allow parents to continue working and advancing.

A pro-woman, pro-life legacy in action

Since 1972, we have worked to change the conditions that can make abortion feel like a woman’s only option. That commitment has always paired respect for every human life with practical advocacy for women, children, and families.

1972

A pro-life feminist movement begins

Founded as Feminists for Life of America, the organization brought together a commitment to women’s equality, nonviolence, and the inherent worth of every human life.

1994 – 1997

Advocacy moves from principle to practical support

The organization opened its Washington, D.C. office, advocated for policies addressing poverty, violence,
child support, and pregnancy discrimination, and held its first Pregnancy Resource Forum to examine what
pregnant and parenting students actually needed.

2010

Campus support becomes part of federal policy

A framework championed by Feminists for Life became part of the federal Pregnancy Assistance Fund, helping states and institutions strengthen support for pregnant and parenting students.

Today

The mission continues as Women Deserve Better

We continue working to change the pressures and lack of practical support that can drive women to abortion through advocacy, education, public policy, practical information, and partnerships centered on women and children.
