About Women Deserve Better
What is Women Deserve Better?
Women Deserve Better is a national nonprofit working to change the conditions that can drive women to abortion through practical, woman-centered solutions. Founded in 1972 as Feminists for Life of America, we advocate for better policies and institutional practices, equip campuses, workplaces, and communities, and connect people with practical information and resources. We believe women should not have to choose between their children and their futures.
Is Women Deserve Better the same organization as Feminists for Life?
Yes. Women Deserve Better is the new public name of Feminists for Life of America, which remains our legal corporate name. The Women Deserve Better name has been part of our work for decades and was registered as a trademark in 2001. This change brings that longstanding message to the forefront of our identity while continuing the same organization and mission.
Our name has changed. Our mission has not.
What is Women Deserve Better’s position on abortion?
Our position is rooted in justice, nondiscrimination, nonviolence, and the inherent worth of every human being. We believe women deserve better than abortion and should not have to choose between their children and their futures. That is why we work to address the barriers and lack of support that can drive women to abortion through practical, woman-centered solutions on campuses, in workplaces and communities, and through public policy.
Is Women Deserve Better religious or affiliated with a political party?
No. Women Deserve Better is not affiliated with any religion or political party. People from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and political perspectives are welcome to work with us toward better resources and support for women and families.

How can I get involved with Women Deserve Better?
You can request a speaker, assess resources and policies on your campus or in your workplace, participate in or host a Pregnancy and Parenting Resource Forum, share WDB materials, volunteer, or intern with us. Each opportunity helps identify barriers, strengthen support, and advance practical solutions for pregnant women, parents, and children.
How can I bring Women Deserve Better to my campus?
Our College Outreach Program helps students, faculty, and administrators strengthen support for pregnant and parenting students. You can start by assessing the resources and policies already available on your campus, sharing WDB resources, requesting outreach materials, inviting a speaker, or bringing people together for a Pregnancy & Parenting Resource Forum.
What is a Pregnancy & Parenting Resource Forum?
A Pregnancy & Parenting Resource Forum brings students, administrators, and community resource providers together to examine existing resources, identify opportunities for greater support, and develop practical next steps for pregnant and parenting students. The approach is simple:

Can I use the WDB approach in my workplace or community?
Yes. The same basic approach-Assess. Connect. Improve.-can help start productive conversations beyond college campuses. Explore what resources and support already exist, listen to the experiences of women and families, bring the right people into the conversation, and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
How can I request a speaker?
Women Deserve Better speakers are available for colleges and universities, conferences, organizations, workplaces, and community events. Tell us a little about your audience, event, and what you’d like to discuss, and we’ll follow up with you.
Can I volunteer or intern with Women Deserve Better?
Yes. Volunteers and interns can contribute their skills to areas such as research, writing, outreach, communications, advocacy, and special projects.

How can I donate to Women Deserve Better?
You can make a secure online donation to support Women Deserve Better’s work on removing the barrier’s that drive women to abortion by advocating for practical resources and holistic support for women and families.
Our online giving platform remains the same, and existing recurring gifts will continue without interruption. Checks made payable to Feminists for Life of America also remain valid because Feminists for Life remains our legal corporate name.
